The development team at inXile Entertainment is announcing that it is changing the name of the new improved version of Wasteland 2 from the GOTY Edition to Director's Cut, and it is also offering players a trailer which delivers a closer look at how the game has evolved for the better.

The studio is still planning to deliver the improved experience for free to all those who own the PC version of the title at some point in late summer.

Wasteland 2 Director's Cut is also coming to the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 from Sony, designed to be played with a controller and offering a range of other features that make it easier for console players to enjoy the core gameplay.

inXile says that it has improved the graphics of the title to make it more appealing courtesy of Unity 5 and the entire combat system has been re-designed to offer more depth and engagement, with a new precision strike concept added.

Perks and quirks are also introduced for characters, and 8,000 new lines have been recorded for the voice-over, while the team has also improved the interface of Wasteland 2 Director's Cut.

inXile has also hinted that it might create an expansion for the title in the coming year.
