Video game developer Supermassive Games and publisher Sony are offering a new trailer for the upcoming Until Dawn, which is designed to show gamers how the various choices that they will make in the horror title will affect the evolution of the story.

The two companies are saying that there are thousands of potential branches that gamers can explore as long as they constantly tweak their choices and seek different outcomes.

The teams add, "Some of your decisions might appear to be inconsequential - a conversation choice that makes a character come across as a bit of an ass, for example - but if you’d made a different choice that character might have ended up the hero."

Supermassive Games will make some of the big choices clear but others will be more subtle, and gamers will have to carefully explore the game in order to find them.

The story of the coming horror game is centered on a serial killer and a group of friends who need to fight him in an isolated cabin.

The entire experience is made to be replayable, and it will take about nine hours to complete one playthrough.

Until Dawn will be out on the PlayStation 4 on August 25 in North America and one day later in Europe.
