If you're troubled by the fact that there are more Steam Machines coming our way than there have been gaming consoles launched since their inception until today, then you're in luck.

Somebody thought to enable prospective buyers of the upcoming Steam boxes to get a synthetic look at their specs and see how they stand against each other pound for pound, making the selection process a tad easier.

Futuremark is the company behind the popular benchmark tool 3DMark and many other similar applications, designed to allow people to brag about who has the most powerful hardware, and now they are putting together a list showing the different alternatives' specs, 3DMark scores, prices, and value, which is the score divided by the price.

This means that it's going to be a lot easier to gauge the upcoming Steam Machines' power when trying to decide between them than just staring at a list of specs.

In case you're not in the loop, Steam Machines are PCs for your living room, enabling you to enjoy the contents of your Steam library in a compact form factor, while sitting comfortably on your sofa, controller in hand.

The first batch of devices has already been announced, coming with a pretty wide variety of specs and prices, and you can check them all out on the appropriate Steam page.
