Today, Panasonic has announced the availability of a new firmware version aimed at its LUMIX GX8, G7, G70, FZ330, and FZ300 camera models, namely build 2.0, which adds compatibility with the “Post Focus” function.

This new addition applies for all models mentioned above and gives owners the ability to select the in-focus area and pull out favorite shots, after shooting an image.

Besides this new functionality, Panasonic’s LUMIX G7 and G70 cameras also receive improved performance for burst shooting or when connecting an HDMI cable, while its GX8 model gets enhanced remote shutter compatibility.

Regarding installation, first make sure your camera’s current firmware version isn’t either newer or matching the present release, and only afterwards save the downloadable archive for your model.

If all is OK, unzip the archive, initialize a memory card using the imaging device, and transfer the firmware file in it. Afterwards, insert a fully charged battery, connect the SD card, power the unit on, and follow all instructions displayed for a complete upgrade.

However, bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t remove the battery/SD card, power off the camera, or use any of its buttons. Doing so can lead to various malfunctions or even render the device unusable.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device name, and apply it according to the steps above. Also, regularly check our website to stay up to speed with the latest releases.
