FiiO has rolled out a new firmware package compatible with its X7 v5 music player, namely version 1.8, which adds USB DAC function (must be installed on Windows systems), increases Bluetooth volume, and resolves certain UI display issues.

In addition to that, the producer managed to include support for AM2 (medium-power) headphone amplifier modules, and increase volume and improve sound quality for third-party applications.

When it comes to installation, first ensure that the device’s battery is full, format a microSD card using the X7 player (FAT32 format), and save the downloadable archive to its root directory.

Now, connect the memory card, turn on FiiO’s unit in Android mode, go to Support > Upgrade > external_SD, and select the archive present in the folder. Also, select “Ok” at the next dialog to confirm the upgrade, and wait patiently as the player does its job.

Bear in mind that, while upgrading, you mustn’t use any of the X7’s buttons, remove its battery, or interrupt the process in any way. Doing so can cause an update failure which can easily lead to various malfunctions.

Once the firmware has been installed, the X7 will automatically reboot in normal Android more, and it will be ready for use.

That said, download FiiO X7 v5 Portable Player Firmware 1.8, carefully apply it to the device and check our website as often as possible to be aware when a newer version is available.
