Microsoft has just released a new firmware build targeted at its Xbox 360 gaming console, namely version 17489, which allows users to connect their device to networks that require Terms of Use acceptance (latest update of Internet Explorer is needed).

In addition to that, this update gives owners the ability to use up to 2GB of Cloud storage space for saving game progress that can be used on Xbox One, see what their friends are playing, as well as view the account balance while looking at the details of a game.

Moreover, you can now access movies and TV collections from Microsoft Movies & TV, view music in Groove Music, and redeem an Xbox Live Marketplace code received in a message via a single “Redeem Code” button.

Last but not least, the producer allows accessing Activity Feed through Social on the console. This gives users the ability to like, comment, share, post new messages, watch game clips, and many more.

As for upgrading to this release, simply save and unzip one of the two downloadable packages (for USB or CD/DVD), copy/burn the content onto the appropriate storage, and insert the newly-prepared drive into the Xbox console.

Now, reboot the unit, allow the device to initiate the upgrade, and wait patiently as the Xbox 360 installs the new firmware.

That being said, download Microsoft Xbox 360 Firmware 2.0.17489.0, apply it carefully, and enjoy your newly-improved gaming console.
