The update improves operation quality and software stability

Just now, Sony has made available its new 2.51 firmware update targeted at PlayStation 4 systems, which improves the software stability and operation quality during use of some features and applications, respectively.

When it comes to installation, create a “PS4/UPDATE” path onto a FAT32-formatted USB stick, save the downloadable .PUP file into the last-created folder, and make sure your PS4 console is completely powered off.

Now, insert the memory stick into your PlayStation 4 system, press and hold Power for at least 7 seconds (this allows it to enter safe mode), navigate to Update System Software, and the console will guide you through the installation.

Even though this seems easy, keep in mind that while installing you mustn’t remove the USB drive, turn off the PS4, or use any of its buttons – doing so will interrupt the upgrade and can also lead to serious device malfunctions.

Furthermore, if the update process isn’t initiated automatically or your console doesn’t recognize the USB stick you just prepared, it would be a good idea to check all above-described steps to make sure you have followed them precisely before jumping to conclusions.

With this in mind, download Sony PlayStation 4 Firmware 2.51, apply it, and enjoy your newly-improved console. Also, check back with us as often as possible to be the first who finds out when a newer version is available for your device.
