This new update is targeted at Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 systems

Just now, Realtek has made available two new driver versions targeted at its RTL8153 USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet controller, namely versions 7.016 and 8.023, compatible with Windows 7, as well as with Windows 8 and 8.1 OSes, respectively (both 32- and 64-bit variants).

Since there are no release notes available whatsoever, I can only assume that these new packages can improve overall performance and stability. However, it would be best to apply them on your computer and find out for yourself what the changes really are.

To do so, save and extract the appropriate archive suitable for system configuration, run the available setup, and follow all instructions displayed on-screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

In addition to that, make sure to give the wizard permission to reboot your computer, as this is required for the changes to take effect. However, if this task isn’t requested, it would be a good idea to perform it manually.

Moreover, bear in mind that, even though these packages might also be compatible with other operating systems, we don’t recommend trying to apply them on platforms other than the aforementioned ones - doing so might lead to various unwanted errors.

Therefore, download Realtek USB 3.0 LAN Driver 7.016 or download Realtek USB 3.0 LAN Driver 8.023, carefully apply it on your computer, and check our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
