Just now, Realtek has rolled out new network drivers developed for its PCI and PCIe Gigabit and Fast Ethernet adapters, namely versions 5.830, 106.12, 7.091, and 8.037, which are the producer’s first releases this year.

When it comes to compatibility, Realtek’s 5.830 driver is suitable for Windows XP and Server 2003 platforms, and can only be applied on systems that include a PCIe network adapter.

Moving forward, while version 106.12 is supported by Windows Vista and Server 2008 OSes, update 7.091 is compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 platforms. However, both releases comply with PCI and PCIe GbE adapters, as well as with PCIe Fast Ethernet controllers.

Last but not least, Realtek’s 8.037 driver is suitable for the same aforementioned network controllers and can be installed on computers running Windows 8 or 8.1 operating systems, as well as Server 2012 platforms. Also, all versions are compatible with both 32- and 64-bit variants.

As for installing these updates, simply save the appropriate package for your system configuration, run the available setup, and follow all instructions displayed on screen for a complete and successful upgrade.

Moreover, once finished, make sure you allow the wizard to reboot your system in order for all changes to take effect. If this task isn’t requested, it would be a good idea to perform it manually.
