The new release only fixes SOAP API security flaw

NETGEAR has just made available a new firmware package compatible with its WNR2000v4 wireless routers, namely version 1.0.0.60, which only adds a fix regarding the device’s SOAP API security flaw.

Therefore, if you have been encountering this problem and want to get rid of it, first of all establish a wired connection between your router and your computer, as wireless technology isn’t that stable.

Afterwards, write down all changes that have been made from default values (you will need to re-enter them manually), get and extract the downloadable archive, and log into the router’s administration page.

Now, go to Advanced Tab → Administration → Firmware Upgrade → Browse, navigate and select the firmware file from within the newly-created folder, click the “Upload” button, and allow your wireless unit to apply the new version.

Even though it seems an easy process, bear in mind that, during the installation, powering off or rebooting the device can result in an update failure that might corrupt the router’s software or even render it unusable.

That being said, download NETGEAR WNR2000v4 Router Firmware 1.0.0.60, carefully apply it on your device, and check our website as often as possible to stay “updated one minute ago.”
