14 DAY TRIAL // Canon has just rolled out a new firmware package compatible with some of its projectors, namely version 01.030300, which enhances fan rotation pattern so that the device lowers its fan noise when in Power Saver mode.
In addition to that, this new update also fixes an issue encountered when the network function is set to “Off” where user menu settings wouldn’t be saved if the projector is powered off immediately after changing these values.
Moreover, entering Standby mode will now be recognized by the Power ON LED indicator, which will start flashing at an interval of 4 (four) seconds.
When it comes to upgrading your device, you should first project a blank screen, press the “Menu” button on its remote, go to ”Information” tab, and check the currently installed firmware to make sure it isn’t newer or matching the present version.
If all is OK, save and extract the appropriate archive for your device model, transfer Auto.pjs, config.ini, MainFW.bin, and SubMpu.hex files onto a formatted USB stick, and insert it into your projector while turned off.
Afterwards, go to Menu > System Settings > Other Settings > Firmware, press “Ok,” and follow all instructions displayed for a successful installation. Upon completion, simply remove the USB memory stick, and you’re done.
