Today, NETGEAR has made available the 2.0.1.26 firmware package developed for its JGS516PE, GS116Ev2, JGS524PE, and JGS524Ev2 switch models, which removes the possibility to obtain configuration through HTTP without login to the device.

In addition to that, this new update also fixes the issue where TCP connection couldn’t be established when TCP header Push (PSH) flag was set with TCP SYN.

Considering these changes, if you intend to apply firmware 2.0.1.26 on your switch, then save and unzip the appropriate package for your device model, and log into administration page using your username and password.

Afterwards, go to “Firmware Update,” choose “Browse,” navigate and select the .bin file from within the newly created folder, and wait for the software to be applied.

Even though this process seems easy, bear in mind that you mustn’t remove the Ethernet/power cable from neither computer or switch, turn off one of them, or interrupt the installation in any way. Doing so will lead to various malfunctions and it can even render the device unusable.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your NETGEAR device, save the firmware, and apply it by following the aforementioned steps. Also, check out our website as often as possible in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
