The release fixes throughput issue during multiple access

Just now, NETGEAR has rolled out a new firmware targeted at its JR6150 and R6050 wireless routers, namely version 1.0.0.34, which applies a WiFi patch in order for the device to be compatible with the new CE standards.

In addition to that, this fresh update also resolves a throughput drop issue encountered when, at the same time, several wireless clients would access the router.

That being said, if you intend to upgrade to this release, first of all make sure your currently installed firmware isn’t either newer or matching the present update. If it’s not, then save and extract the archive, and establish a wired connection between your router and computer.

Now, simply connect to NETGEAR’s web user interface (username and password should be requested), go to Maintenance > Router Upgrade, hit “Browse,” and navigate and select the newly-extracted .img file.

At this point, you must click the “Upload” button and wait patiently for the router to do its job. While installing, a progress bar will be displayed on your screen to make things clearer.

However, even though this process seems easy, make sure not to remove the Ethernet/Power cable from either devices or close the update web page during the upgrade as this can lead to various device malfunctions.

With this in mind, download NETGEAR R6050 Firmware 1.0.0.34 or download NETGEAR JR6150 Firmware 1.0.0.34, carefully apply it on your wireless router, and check our website as often as possible in order to be aware when a newer version is available for your product.
