They will probably be included on the Blu-ray / DVD release

One of the most hyped and well-received action releases of the year was George Miller’s reboot of the “Mad Max” franchise, the post-apocalyptic “Mad Max: Fury Road,” with Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron as leads. The film is coming out on Blu-ray and DVD on September 1, so fans will probably be getting more footage.

Also on that release will be 3 deleted scenes, if the video below is any indication. *Please note that discretion is recommended when viewing it, as it contains images of violence and some nudity that might offend.

You can see why these 3 scenes were left out: they weren’t really essential to the story and the characters, as they only brought additional information about the world these people lived in. They’re basically exactly the kind of footage you’d expect from a DVD extra.

Still, they’re interesting to watch because they offer a better look at Miller’s vision for the project and how it became the thing that it is today.

Miller also wrote and directed the first 3 “Mad Max” movies, with Mel Gibson as lead, which became cult classics. He worked for years to get the reboot off the ground, and negotiations weren’t a walk in the park. Consider this: by the time he got to make “Fury Road,” Gibson was too old to reprise the role, so Miller set out to look for a replacement.

He found it in Tom Hardy, but it was Charlize Theron’s Furiosa that was the biggest surprise of the final cut: a feminist hero like few others in modern cinema, especially in action movies.
