After launching its flagship Axon Phone in the United States, Chinese company ZTE announced a mid-range Android smartphone is now available for customers in this country.

The new ZTE Boost Max+ is now available for purchase in the United States for just $200 outright. As the name suggests, the new mid-range smartphone is available through Boost Mobile.

The Boost Max+ comes to fulfill the presumably high demand for cheap phablets in the United States where Android is still the major OS.

In this regard, the smartphone comes with a large 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Potential customers should know that the ZTE Boost Max+ ships to anywhere in the United States for free. Another good news is the fact that it comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

Dual Mode 3G/4G LTE support

For only $200, ZTE Boost Max+ offers HD Voice support, as well as Dolby Digital Plus, which should provide users with a more realistic, immersive experience. It also features dual mode 3G/4G LTE, so users will be able to switch between Sprint's 3G and 4G LTE networks.

When it comes to hardware, the Boost Max+ offers more than decent specs for the price you pay. It comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, probably provided by Qualcomm.

The quad-core CPU is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Furthermore, the smartphone packs microSD card slot for storage expansion.

It is also worth mentioning that ZTE Boost Max+ is powered by a 3,400 mAh non-removable battery, which is rated by the carrier for up to 16 hours of talk time.

On the back, the mid-range Android smartphone packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary modest 1-megapixel camera for video calls.
