The team at Microsoft in charge of the Xbox One home console is ready to announce the schedule for its events at the upcoming Gamescom event in Cologne, Germany, for both those who are attending in person and those who will watch everything at home.

An official briefing that will focus on the future of the platform will take place on Tuesday, August 4, at 4 PM Central European Time.

The official Major Nelson blog post explains that his company aims to "show off many of the games coming to Xbox One, including titles like Scalebound, Quantum Break, and Crackdown."

Gamers will be able to watch it all on the Xbox One, the Xbox 360 and the Windows Phone.

The official booth for the Xbox One will be open all through the show and will give gamers a chance to get hands-on experience with video games like Forza Motorsport 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Halo 5: Guardians.

From Tuesday, August 4, to Wednesday, August 5, gamers can also take part in the Xbox Fanfest for Gamescom 2015.

The Xbox One is still behind the PlayStation 4 when it comes to sales

It will be interesting to see whether the Microsoft team plans to announce a 2015 launch date for Crackdown or Scalebound, considering the already crowded launch schedule for the autumn season.

The company needs to deliver some big titles in order to get fans interested in the Xbox One and to give it a chance to get ahead of the rival PlayStation 4.

At the moment, the Sony platform is ahead in terms of sales and has managed to deliver another solid performance for the month of June in the United States, according to the NPD Group.

Microsoft has recently announced a big Madden NFL 16 focused Xbox One bundle.

The company has also recently made permanent an older temporary price cut and has suggested that it might deliver more offers and bundles in the coming months in order to make its platform more attractive in terms of value.

Gamescom might also be a good place to talk more about the integration between the Windows 10 OS and the Xbox One, including cross-platform play.
