Video game developer CD Projekt RED is announcing that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has sold six million copies in the first six months after launch and has managed to deliver on the expectations of the studio, creating a new set of obligations for those who worked on it.

Adam Badowski, the leader of the studios, has issued an open letter for fans of the Geralt-powered title, explaining that the solid sales created a clear responsibility for the team to make sure that the fan base is satisfied with their purchase.

He states, "RED is full of artists, wild dreamers and people crazy about what they do (and sometimes just plain crazy). We lose sleep over that particular color the sun has when it sets over Velen, and argue over arranging the furniture in a house the majority of gamers will probably never see. We’re not the kind of people who are easily satisfied, and we always strive for more."

The development team also thanks all of those who have supported The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the entire series.

The company seems determined to make sure that the community gets more content associated with the title in the long-term in order to make sure that it keeps playing the final adventure of Geralt.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to get access to two expansions

CD Projekt RED has already delivered eighteen pieces of free downloadable content linked to the game, culminating with the New Game Plus mode that allows gamers who have finished the narrative to jump in once again while keeping some of their abilities.

Fans also received a number of new adventures and alternate designs for the most important characters.

CD Projekt RED is planning to launch one major expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before the end of the year, with another set, to arrive in the first half of 2016.

Both of them will deliver around 20 hours of gameplay and will take Geralt to new areas, while also introducing some complex situations for him to solve.

CD Projekt RED also delivered a Modkit for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, allowing gamers to tweak the title in some ways.
