Microsoft has recently released the latest Windows 10 Mobile build to users enrolled in the slow ring too, thus making it available for everyone participating in the Insider program.

In an update to the original blog post announcing build 10586.107, Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, says the Windows team has managed to address an important part of the feedback it received, and the latest cumulative updates are specifically supposed to improve the performance of the system.

And what’s also very important is that Microsoft focused on the upgrade experience from Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile, which could be a sign that the release of the new operating system for Windows Phone devices might be near.

“Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586.107 is now available to Windows Insiders in the Slow ring. Over the past few Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586, we have addressed feedback we have received from Windows Insiders on the upgrade experience from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 mobile,” Gabe Aul explains.

“If you would like to try the latest update experience out on your device - you can use Windows Device Recovery Tool to go back to Windows Phone 8.1 and then re-enroll your device into receive Windows Insider Preview Builds.”

Running smoothly on all devices

As we told you yesterday, Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 is said to bring significant performance improvements for the majority of Windows Phone devices, with some testers even claiming that it might be “production ready.”

While there still are some minor bugs to fix, build 10586.107 runs very smoothly on most devices, including those with 512 MB of RAM, so it’s very clear that we’re getting closer to the moment when Windows 10 Mobile could get the go-ahead and start the rollout for Windows Phone devices.

This is expected to happen by the end of the month, according to the latest reports, but Microsoft is yet to confirm this.
