User report significant improvements after the update

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 a few hours ago to Windows insiders enrolled in the fast ring, and just as expected, this new release doesn’t bring anything new in terms of features.

But on the other hand, it comes with significant improvements in terms of performance, and users on reddit who have already installed it confirm that their devices are running much faster than before.

Furthermore, the painful “Resuming” screens are only rarely showing up while battery usage has received an important boost after installing the build.

“It's still really early for a definitive statement, but so far the battery usage on my 950XL is very promising. In the two hours since installing the .107 update, I've only drained a total of 3% battery on standby. Previously, I was burning through 5% per hour on standby according to my battery app. This is with all of the bells & whistles turned on,” one user who installed the update explains.

The RTM version of Windows 10 Mobile

With performance improved so significantly in this build, some say that Windows 10 Mobile 10586.107 “is production ready,” which means that it could be easily shipped to Windows Phone devices as an upgrade.

Certainly, there still are bugs to be fixed, and Microsoft knows it better than anyone else, but with such significant improvements delivered with every build, it’s very clear that we’re getting closer to the official release of the operating system.

If the previous reports on the release date of Windows 10 Mobile are true, then the operating system should start rolling out for Windows Phone devices by the end of February, but Microsoft is still not confirming this. If this build is the one to be released as an upgrade version, it first needs to be offered to slow ring users, and depending on the feedback the company gets, it might then be pushed to everyone too.
