Source claims that Microsoft will jump directly to RTM

Windows 10 build 10158 has been officially launched today for users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program, and now a new report claims that this might actually be the last version of the operating system before it reaches RTM.

Russian leaker WZor, who has until now provided us with accurate Windows information in advance, claims that Microsoft will jump directly to RTM after build 10158, which more or less makes sense, given that this is one of the most stable and reliable releases so far.

In fact, build 10158 comes with no major known bugs, and as we’ve told you earlier today, this is a sign that the new operating system is coming together quite nicely.

10158 for slow ring users

If this is indeed the last build released by Microsoft to insiders before July 29, expect the company to focus on improving its performance, so before RTM, it should arrive for slow ring users too.

If this happens, Windows 10 build 10158 could include fixes for the majority of bugs that fast ring users find, thus making it even more stable than it actually is right now. This makes sense for Microsoft, given the fact that it has less than 30 days to improve the existing build, so if you want to get ready for Windows 10, build 10158 is the one you need to install.

On July 29, Windows insiders will be given two options: to continue receiving new builds of Windows 10, as the Windows Insider program will live on for the next OS updates, or to stick to RTM and stop being a tester for future versions.

Keep in mind that this is just a rumor for the time being and there’s still no confirmation from Microsoft that this is the latest build of Windows 10 before RTM, so take everything with a pinch of salt.
