Sync options and tab previews now available for users

Windows 10 build 10565 is now available for users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program and it brings a long list of improvements, including some welcome changes in Microsoft Edge, the new default browser that replaces Internet Explorer on PCs and tablets.

Microsoft has already promised to significantly improve Edge in future updates, and build 10565 is the first to take a step in this direction, as it adds some of the most requested features for the browser.

First and foremost, there are the tab previews, which allow you to see what's running into a website by simply hovering your mouse cursor over the tab. This feature is already available in rival browsers, such as Chrome and Firefox, but neither comes with tab preview from the get-go, so users must turn to the add-on store to get it.

This is actually the big advantage of extensions, as users can always expand the default functionality of the browser using third-party add-ons created by developers worldwide. The only browser that comes with tab preview support built-in is Opera, but in this case, it works a little bit differently - previews eat up a bigger part of the browser, so they do not use just a small thumbnail as Edge does.

Synchronization support

Starting with build 10565, Microsoft Edge also offers synchronization options, which certainly come in handy, given the fact that this browser was designed from the very beginning to run on both PCs and smartphones as a universal app.

The new feature allow users to sync bookmarks and reading lists across Windows devices where the same Microsoft account is configured, so you have nothing else to do than to enable this option.

Keep in mind that these new features are still included in the preview build of Windows 10, but taking into account the fact that Microsoft's already testing them, expect the same improvements to arrive in the RTM version anytime soon.
