14 DAY TRIAL // After announcing the release of the iOS 9.2, OS X 10.11.2 El Capitan, and tvOS 9.1 software updates, Apple has released the first maintenance build for the watchOS 2 operating system for Apple Watch devices.
watchOS 2.1 introduces system support for Arabic, Hebrew, Malay, Greek, Czech, Portuguese (Portugal), Hungarian, and Vietnamese languages, along with support for Right-to-Left user interface and the ability to switch between Latin and Hindi numerals for Arabic.
Furthermore, it adds support for dictation in Arabic (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia), English (Malaysia), Portuguese (Portugal), Hebrew, Hungarian, Vietnamese, Czech, and Greek languages, as well as a new complication for the Hebrew and Islamic Calendars.
Support for Siri in Arabic (United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia) is also available in watchOS 2.1. Events are now correctly updated in Calendar complication, the time is now displayed in the Power Reserve mode, and third-party apps can now be properly launched.
Additionally, watchOS 2.1 now correctly displays the icons of some third-party apps, and greatly improves the overall stability of the operating system when changing system languages.
Here's how to update your Apple Watch to watchOS 2.1
watchOS 2.1 is now available for all supported Apple Watch devices, including the Apple Watch (38mm) (Watch1,1) and Apple Watch (42mm) (Watch1,2) models. To update your Apple Watch, you need to first update your iPhone to iOS 9.2.
After making sure that your Apple Watch's battery is charged over 50% or the smartwatch is currently charging, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone device, go to General -> Software Update, and wait for the watchOS 2.1 update to appear.
Apply the watchOS 2.1 software update, which will be automatically sent from your iPhone to the Apple Watch device, where the rest of the update process will take place. Be aware that your Apple Watch will be automatically restarted.
