An alleged 4-inch iPhone has been spotted at a China show

Apple is expected to take the wraps off the new iPhone SE later this month, but given the company’s typical strategy of keeping all details secret until the unveiling, very little is known about the device, and the existing reports and speculation are rather contradictory.

A new video posted on YouTube (via CNET) claims to show the upcoming iPhone SE in full, although it’s worth mentioning from the very beginning that it’s still impossible to tell if this is the real deal or just a cheap knock-off manufactured in China. And chances for this to be a fake are actually very high, given the fact that the video is shot at an event in China.

According to the video presentation, the iPhone SE indeed comes with a 4-inch screen and is similar in size and weight to the iPhone 5S. But as far as its design goes, the new iPhone looks more like the 6/6s, so it’s pretty much a smaller version of the model currently on the market.

Minor changes in terms of exterior design

There are only small changes, some of them also expected to show up on the upcoming iPhone 7, including a new position for the camera, which has been moved slightly closer to the edge of the phone.

Other than that, nothing too surprising, and if you were wondering, yes, the 3.5mm audio jack is still there in this video. So if Apple is indeed planning to remove the traditional audio connector, it can only do it on the iPhone 7, which is supposed to be a pioneer for a wider range of features.

In the end, nothing should be taken for granted because it’s hard to believe that Apple would allow Chinese companies not only to bring an iPhone SE to a public event but also to detail it in such a video before the official unveiling. The video is still worth a look, though, especially if you plan to purchase the upcoming 4-inch model.
