One of the Ubuntu developers’ goals is to increase the battery performance of the phones powered by their operating system, and it looks like they are doing some great work with the Meizu MX4.

In a world where companies are proud to say that the battery in their phones can now last a full day without having to recharge (OnePlus is a good example), battery performance has become paramount. Just a few months ago, when the new Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition hit the market, a lot of users complained about the poor battery life. It took the Ubuntu devs just a couple of updates to completely turn the situation around.

The Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition is the most powerful phone boasting the operating system from Canonical and the biggest screen. This means that it goes through its power juice at a much faster pace, but Ubuntu Touch seems to handle it much better than it used to. Many users have been reporting important changes, and it's not hard to see why they are excited about the fact that it can get even better.

Meizu MX4 battery performance is improving

You might think that such an improvement can't happen overnight, but that's pretty much the story. Users were complaining about the terrible battery life, a new update was released, and starting the next day everything was better again.

Popescu Sorin is just one of the many MX4 Ubuntu Edition users that have noticed the drastic changes. He says that he's been doing some normal stuff, like phone calls, telegram, Internet browsing, and a little bit of gaming. The average usage of the phone spans for about 30hr.

This is especially impressive since it has a 3100 mAh battery, which is not all that big by modern standards.
