14 DAY TRIAL // Just a few minutes ago, Łukasz Zemczak of Canonical sent in his daily report to inform us all about the latest work done by the Ubuntu Touch developers in preparation for the upcoming OTA releases.
According to Mr. Zemczak, the Mir fix for the infamous incoming-call hang regression introduced in the OTA-9 software update has finally arrived, and it should be soon available in the rc-proposed channel.
As reported yesterday, the Mir team at Canonical managed to reproduce the nasty issue reported by Ubuntu Users a week ago, as well as to fix it. Now, it remains to be seen how the fix will be sent to users' devices.
"We have just landed the mir fix for the infamous incoming-call hang issue in OTA-9 - it should be available in the next rc-proposed nightly build. Stable users should not worry - we are thinking of a way to get the fix released to our stable channels as well," said Łukasz Zemczak, Ubuntu Foundation.
OTA-10 gets more features
Now that the Mir issue has been repaired and will arrive soon to all Ubuntu Phone users running the OTA-9 update, the Ubuntu Touch developers can continue their work on implementing new features for the upcoming major OTA-10 release.
Therefore, during the day of February 11, they managed to land a new click release with test-related fixes, as well as an updated Unity Scopes API, which should pave the way for more Scopes landings for the forthcoming Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) branch.
Lastly, the Ubuntu Touch development team also managed to fix one of the bugs with the emulator. All these and many other upcoming features will be part of the OTA-10 software update, which should arrive for all supported Ubuntu Phone devices in the first week of March 2016.
