14 DAY TRIAL // Ubuntu Community Manager Alan Pope teased users on Twitter with a photo of Canonical's Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system running on a Sony Xperia T2 Ultra smartphone.
As you may know or not, Canonical bragged with ports of the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system for the Sony Xperia Z1 and OnePlus One devices during the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2016 event that took place last month in Barcelona, Spain.
And now it looks like someone attempted to port the Ubuntu mobile OS to the gorgeous Sony Xperia T2 Ultra 6-inch phablet (see below for technical specifications of the device), but at the moment of writing this article we have no other details about the upcoming port.
We have even searched the UBPorts website to see whether one of the developers is currently working on the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra port for Ubuntu Touch, but there's no info there about that. Anyway, on this occasion, we discovered the fact that Ubuntu mobile OS might also come to devices like LG Nexus 5X and Nexus 9.

Sony Xperia T2 Ultra is an impressive device that sports a large 6-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, a Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 processor, 1GB RAM, 13 MP rear camera with Full-HD (1080p) video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, and a generous, yet non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.
The phablet usually ships with the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) mobile operating system from Google, but it's upgradable to 5.1 (Lollipop). However, being able to install the Ubuntu Touch operating system on it is great for users who want to try out new mobile experiences. We will update the article as soon as we know more details about the Ubuntu Touch port for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra.
