We don't get to see too many concepts for Linux distros

Linux users don't really get to see a lot of concepts for desktops, but from time to time we get to experience some pretty interesting designs. The same can be said about the Ubuntu 16.04 Stupendously Hot Charmander concept, which looks superb.

If we take a look just a few years back, we'll notice that Linux concepts were all over the place. It's not clear why they've gone away, but it probably has to do with the fact that most of the features imagined by designers have actually landed in Linux systems. In any case, it's clear that concepts don't seem to fit anymore especially since Linux users already have a good idea of the features and changes that will land in operating systems.

Just a couple of weeks ago we had a mockup concept for Plasma Mobile from a member of the community and they seemed to be much better than what the designers of the software presented. That was possible because not very much is known about Plasma Mobile, which is a very young project based on Ubuntu Touch that will probably change a lot.

Ubuntu 16.04 Hot Charmander sounds like a good idea

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is still pretty far away, and Unity 8 will need to evolve a lot more, so it's easier for designers to imagine stuff that can be done. Also, in case you didn't already know, Charmander is a Pokémon.

"Hi guys, just came to spam a little. I have made Ubuntu 16.04 Stupendously Hot Charmander concept, and I would like to know your thoughts. If you like it, you can click appreciate on the behance page. To be fair and honest, your thumb ups will help me too! Any comments are welcome! Thank you and sorry for bothering," said the designer Duy Tiep Roman Nguyen on Google+.

Enjoy!
