After a reveal about the minor factions that Total War: Warhammer will feature on the campaign map, the team at The Creative Assembly is ready to deliver a new video linked to the coming strategy game, which offers a look at the Empire faction in action.

According to the studio, the footage includes a look at character skill trees and how gamers can explore them, the special Offices panel that the human-dominated faction will use, as well as the tech tree and the building chains.

Reikland is the focus of the new Total War: Warhammer video, and there are also details about the way the Empire will be able to interact with the Old World and create a very powerful bulwark against the coming Chaos threat.

The strategic map has grown in importance for the series since the first Shogun was launched, and The Creative Assembly has promised that, for its first foray into the fantasy space, it is trying to make the experience of playing each faction as unique as possible.

The Empire is civilized and dominated by humans, and that gives them a chance to try and use diplomacy to increase their power, with Emperor Karl Franz able to try and convince the other Prince Electors to join him in the fight against Chaos.

Gamers will also have to choose who to deal with the pressure from Norsca and its raiders as well as the best way to increase Kislev's ability to resist being invaded and destroyed.

Total War: Warhammer will feature a new province system that will make it impossible for one faction to conquer all of the map, which means that, when expansion is no longer a possibility, players will have to create buffer zones against other powerful groups.

The Vampire Counts have not yet been detailed

Both the Empire and the Greenskins have received campaign playthrough videos, and gamers have also been able to look at some pretty spectacular battles created by the game engine.

Images of possible progress with the Dwarves have also been revealed, but The Creative Assembly has not yet offered any information about the mechanics that will underpin a campaign that features the Vampire Counts.

The fantasy universe created by Games Workshop has undergone major transformations, including the full destruction of the Old World, and the coming title is only the first one in a series of three that will portray a variety of worlds and will probably feature different factions.

The newly designed battle system will feature, for the first time, flying units, heroes that use impressive mounts, as well as magic users that can dominate segments of the battlefield with their spells.

Total War: Warhammer will be out on the PC on April 28 of this year, and gamers who want to be able to control the Chaos warrior faction on the campaign map need to place a pre-order for the title at qualified retailers.

The Creative Assembly has already said that it has long-term downloadable content packs for the title, continuing the business model that has worked well for recent releases Rome and Attila.
