It seems that Titanfall 2 is soon due for a major announcement, after the development team working on the game has started offering some information about the way it plans to improve the experience when compared to the original, but it's still unclear whether gamers will get to actually play it during 2016.

A new reveal about game-related toys from McFarlane Toys talks about cinematic moments, new memorable characters that will be portrayed in a new Collector Box Program that's set to appear before the end of the year and will involve figurines linked to other franchises.

Todd McFarlane, the chief executive officer of the company, adds, "This is a perfect fit. McFarlane Toys was created so I could make cool stuff just like this. Without saying too much about the new game… You’re not going to believe where we can take this."

The company claims that the coming toys will feature a lot of detail and will reflect the unique nature of Titanfall 2, although no info about the actual characters or mechs to be portrayed is being offered at the moment.

Since the McFarlane Toys announcement was made, Electronic Arts has delivered an official statement saying that it does not plan to reveal the launch details for the new title from Respawn Entertainment at the moment, but confirming that it is collaborating with a range of figurines based on it.

It's likely that the publisher is aiming to deliver an official announcement about the launch date for Titanfall 2 at some point during the year, possibly at the events that it is planning to run alongside the E3 2016 convention.

The most likely scenario is that the new Collector Box from McFarlane will be out in 2016 and that Electronic Arts will announce that Titanfall 2 is arriving during the first few months of next year, with toys associated with it launched on the same date.

Single player will be a bigger part of the sequel

Jesse Stern, the lead writer, working on the video game, has recently explained that this time around Respawn Entertainment is planning to create a deeper campaign for gamers to enjoy, which is designed to explore themes associated with the American Revolution and the Civil War.

The core elements of Titanfall 2 will still involve nimble pilots and powerful mechs, but there are new ways to explore the deeper themes associated with the franchise.

According to the development team, the multiplayer will also be improved, with more situational awareness for all gamers and a set of mechanics that are based on the feedback delivered by the community.

Titanfall 2 is set to arrive on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft, although cross-platform play is probably not one of the planned new features.

The first title in the series has managed to get more than 10 million players since launch and has received a wide variety of downloadable content packs that introduced new maps and more gameplay options.
