The Linux Foundation has announced that Certified System Administrator (LFCS) exams have been made available in the Spanish and Portuguese languages. Also, the Essentials of Linux System Administration course (LFS201) can now be taken in Portuguese as well.

The Linux Foundation is making some serious efforts to expand its courses in other languages. They first started with Spanish a month ago, since that was the most requested language for the online courses. Now, the foreign language support has been extended to Portuguese as well. Please keep in mind that Portuguese is spoken in Europe and South America. Brazil, for example, is one of the countries with an ever expanding IT field.

If you decide to take the LFCS exam, you will be able to view the questions in Spanish or Portuguese, but other parts of the process, as the registration, interface, and so on, are still in English, so some basic English knowledge is still required. Nonetheless, you can always contact The Linux Foundation if you have any issues or any other input regarding the tests.

Getting the skill you need in your language

It's easy to see that The Linux Foundation is trying to make its courses available in as many languages as possible. The training and programs are aimed at potential users of RedHat, SUSE and Ubuntu, but people will also be able to apply the knowledge in other domains.

“The Linux Foundation continues to look for ways to expand access to quality Linux training for people all around the world, and the launch of certification exams and Essentials of System Administration in Spanish and Portuguese is the next logical step,” said Jim Zemlin, executive director of The Linux Foundation. “Brazil and Latin America are expected to add hundreds of thousands of IT jobs in the coming years, and this course will help enable anyone who wants to compete for one of those positions to do so.”

The 2015 Linux Jobs Report shows that the demand for Linux trained people is on the rise, and it's becoming more and more important to know how to use such systems. For more information about Linux Foundation Certification, please visit: http://training.linuxfoundation.org/certification.
