14 DAY TRIAL // Being one of the instant messaging services that have gained lots of fans in the last couple of months, Telegram has just received a major update that brings lots of improvements and a few new features.
The new version of Telegram is only available on Android and iOS platforms, bu an update for the Windows Phone version might arrive at some point as well.
First of all, the voice messages feature now has a new interface with waveform visualization, but also a new player and raise-to-speak function.
Users will now be able to listen to a long voice message and switch to other media or chats. The message will continue to play in the background.
Users can now record and listen to voice messages much more easily with the addition of raise-to-speak and raise-to-listen features.
According to developers, this feature will work well with the newest smartphones, but since it's highly dependent on proximity sensors, gyroscopes and accelerometers, it might not work well on older ones.
More sharing options for iOS users, additional photo editing tools on Android
Telegram developers have also announced some improvements to the Secret Chats. Users will be pleased to know that the update will bring detailed link previews, replies, photo and video captions, sticker sharing, inline bots and GIFs, to the Secret Chats.
Also, some other improvements have been implemented as well, such as the option to change who may add new members to a Supergroup, along with many sharing enhancements for iOS devices.
iOS users will now be able to share any photo, video, audio, document or location to any Telegram chat or channel directly from default iOS apps like Maps, Voice Memos, Photos and Contacts.
Last but not least, a brand new Photo Editor for Android devices is now available in Telegram, which features additional photo-editing tools like rotate, fade, tint and curves.
You can now download Telegram for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.0 and up.
For iOS users, the application can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all smartphones that run iOS 6.0 or later.
