14 DAY TRIAL // There’s more drama brewing between Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, and Taylor and Katy Perry. Hot on the heels of Miley’s comments about the industry double standard applied to her videos and Taylor’s, and reports that she was planning on publicly humiliating Taylor at the MTV Video Music Awards 2015, comes the report that Taylor has this new feud all figured out.
It’s not Miley she blames for the recent criticism about her music video, which got lots of media attention after being featured in the latest issue of Marie Claire. She’s convinced it was Katy Perry who got Miley to say these things.
Miley Cyrus calls Taylor out in interview
To recap: the media frenzy started last week, when the newest issue of Marie Claire came out. It carried a spread with Miley and an interview meant to promote her hosting gig at the VMAs 2015, at the end of the month.
In between discussing about her Disney start and how it messed her up, her career plans and whether she considered herself a role model or not, Miley questioned Taylor’s status as one. How could she be hailed as a role model and a feminist when her more recent video, for “Bad Blood,” was about pitting women against each other and senseless violence?
She, on the other hand, was constantly censored by the media and put down for bearing her breasts and preaching body acceptance. That wasn’t right, she said.
As was expected, the comment got a lot of attention online, because few are the stars who dare to call Taylor on her self-serving faux-feminism. Word has it that she was so furious about the whole thing that she immediately started planning her revenge.
Meanwhile, Miley is also thinking of her next move: later reports claimed that she planned to push the “feud” even further at the VMAs and publicly humiliate Taylor. She wasn’t doing it because she had something against her in particular, but because she loved to stir up controversy.
Katy Perry, the evil mastermind
Sources are now telling Hollywood Life that maybe Miley didn’t act alone on this.
For whatever reason, Taylor was “suspicious” from the start and has become convinced that Miley is only a puppet.
“Taylor is very suspicious that Katy’s behind Miley’s attack on her, she blames [Katy Perry],” says a tipster. “She knows Miley and Katy hang out and she knows Katy still talks so much trash about her, she knows she tries to turn people against her. She thinks Miley is just a pawn in Katy’s game, she feels sorry for her.”
Taylor and Katy had a huge falling out a while back, and since then, the media has been having a blast pitting the 2 against each other in the most childish ways.
