Supports Mac OS X's dark theme, quoting tweets, and more

Back at the end of October 2015, we reported news on the next major version of the Twitter for Mac application for Apple's Mac OS X computer operating system, stating that it would be a major version with excellent new features.

Today, December 30, 2015, Twitter finally released the Twitter for Mac 4.0 update, which is indeed a totally revamped release of one of the best Twitter desktop clients ever made, making it even better than before thanks to its modern user interface and the awesome set of new features

"Twitter for Mac is getting the update you've been asking for. Now it looks and feels more like the Twitter you carry with you every day. We've built in some of the most-requested features, so your Twitter for Mac experience combines what you love about Twitter with the elegance you expect on a Mac," read the release notes posted on the Mac App Store.

What's new in Twitter for Mac 4.0

Prominent features of Twitter for Mac 4.0 include support for inline video playback, allowing users to play videos directly in their Twitter feeds, support for viewing animated GIF files without leaving the timeline, support for sending group direct messages to up to 50 people, as well as the ability to mute certain Twitter accounts that you don't want to see in your feeds.

Furthermore, Twitter for Mac 4.0 features a totally redesigned user interface with modern elements and support for Mac OS X's dark theme, so you can see the world in black and white, support for quoting tweets, and Today Center Widget, a new way for you to get the Twitter highlights right on your desktop.
