A few weeks ago, we brought you a piece of interesting news: a listing coming out of the UAProf (user-agent profile) data base seemed to indicate that Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z5+ smartphone would be the first handset model to arrive with a 4K display.

In a few days, the IFA 2015 tradeshow will open its doors in Berlin and Sony has already teased us with a blurry image of the Xperia Z5 flagship, which will undoubtedly be unveiled during the event.

But the Japanese company will also roll out two other smartphone models. Ahead of the official announcement, Sony Georgia (via @evleaks) has leaked the three Xperia Z5 variants that will be unveiled during the big event.

According to the recent information, the Xperia Z5 will arrive with a 5.2-inch display with 1080p resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), while the Xperia Z5 Compact will make a debut with a 4.6-inch screen with 720p (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium will wow customers with its 4K display

But the most interesting part comes now: apparently, we’re not going to see Sony unveil the Xperia Z5+ but the Xperia Z5 Premium, which will indeed feature a 5.5-inch display with amazing 4K resolution (2160 x 3840 pixels) and an insane 800+ pixels per inch.

Now, it seems very likely that the display will end up being utilized for virtual reality purposes. We’re also told the phone features an ultra-compact design, so we’re really curious to see what Sony has to offer us here.

The new handset lineup will benefit from the services of an in-house Sony 23MP camera, which features a super-fast 0.1-second autofocus, f/1.8 aperture and1/2.2 inch sensor. No mention of whether optical image stabilization will also be included.

Last but not least, the leak indicates that all three smartphones will come with fingerprint scanners on board, although we’re not told whether they are going to reside in front embedded in the home button or on the back.

Earlier leaks indicated that the Xperia Z5 Premium would arrive with a 5.7-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820, and 4GB of RAM. But given the fact that Sony plans to unveil the premium phablet in a few days, it’s highly unlikely the Snapdragon 820 will be the processor on board. The silicon piece is expected to make it into devices starting March 2016.
