With more than 140 million downloads worldwide, Sonic Dash is certainly one of the most popular games published by SEGA.

Today, the company has announced that a sequel to the successful Sonic Dash game will soon be available on mobile devices.

Dubbed Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, the game has been developed by Hardlight studio and will soon arrive on both Android and iOS platforms.

While we don't have an exact release date yet, SEGA says we should ready our phones since we will soon be able to download this new Sonic game for free.

According to SEGA, Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom features the world of hit TV series “Sonic Boom” and brings players more content, more action, and even more challenges straight on their mobile devices.

More action, more content, and more challenges

In terms of gameplay, Sonic Dash 2 has been confirmed to combine all the elements that led to the success of the first episode and takes them to a new level.

As mentioned earlier, the game will feature more content, more action, and more challenges, all of them fitting right into your pocket.

Some of you might have already been able to play the game since Sonic Dash 2 was soft launched a few months ago in select territories around the globe.

During this soft launch period, developers have tweaked and improved the game to ensure its quality standards are met when it launches worldwide.

According to the developers, “After many improvements within the gameplay, the interface and the tutorial as well as on the tech side, we are confident that Sonic Dash 2 is now ready for a global release.”

SEGA hasn't yet mentioned anything about a possible release of Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom on the Windows Phone platform, so for now it will be playable on Android and iOS devices.
