The Internet makes fun of the new iPhone “sheep edition”

Apple launched the 4-inch iPhone SE this week in an attempt to upgrade users sticking with old devices to new hardware and software, but it goes without saying that coming up with smaller models when everyone is heading in the opposite direction made many people skeptical about Cupertino’s strategy.

The iPhone SE has thus become the target of Internet memes, jokes, and ironic remarks, although it’s clearly too early to tell whether this model will be successful or not. First of all, it’s the name of the device.

The SE, which Apple says stands for “special edition” (a reference to the design borrowed from the iPhone 5), put everyone’s imagination to work. What we got were several more humorous versions: iPhone Super Expensive, iPhone Second (Hand) Edition, iPhone Still Expensive, iPhone Sorry Everyone, Small Edition, Small Hands Edition, Sad Edition, Surrender Everyone, iPhone Sony Ericsson, and iPhone Sheep Edition.

Then, it’s the size of the screen. It was just a matter of time until someone said that this was the right device for Donald Trump’s “small hands.”

Size does matter, at least in the case of phones, and Twitter apparently knows this very well. The iPhone SE is pretty much the old iPhone 5 with new hardware, so the Internet was quick to notice this and make fun of Apple of "reinventing" the iPhone. And last but not least, there were the jokes aimed at the amazing amount of storage that Apple offers on the most affordable iPhone SE: 16 GB. And last but not least, there are these brilliant videos that show what the iPhone SE is all about and why you should buy it.
