14 DAY TRIAL // Apple launched the 4-inch iPhone SE this week in an attempt to upgrade users sticking with old devices to new hardware and software, but it goes without saying that coming up with smaller models when everyone is heading in the opposite direction made many people skeptical about Cupertino’s strategy.
The iPhone SE has thus become the target of Internet memes, jokes, and ironic remarks, although it’s clearly too early to tell whether this model will be successful or not. First of all, it’s the name of the device.
The SE, which Apple says stands for “special edition” (a reference to the design borrowed from the iPhone 5), put everyone’s imagination to work. What we got were several more humorous versions: iPhone Super Expensive, iPhone Second (Hand) Edition, iPhone Still Expensive, iPhone Sorry Everyone, Small Edition, Small Hands Edition, Sad Edition, Surrender Everyone, iPhone Sony Ericsson, and iPhone Sheep Edition.
Then, it’s the size of the screen. It was just a matter of time until someone said that this was the right device for Donald Trump’s “small hands.”
