This build is now available for the slow ring too

Microsoft has recently pushed Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 to insiders enrolled in the slow ring, and now there’s hope that this could also be the version that the company might be releasing to Windows Phone devices in the coming days.

While there’s no guarantee that .107 is the lucky upgrade version, reports coming from users who have already installed it are extremely optimistic, with most performance reviews showing significant improvements on all devices.

Basically, there are several reasons that could make us believe Windows 10 Mobile build 10586.107 (or one with a slightly improved version number, but still very close to this one) could be offered to Windows Phone devices, and it all starts with performance.

“A mid-February launch”

In addition to users praising the performance of build .107, Microsoft has also said that it focused specifically on improving the upgrade experience from Windows Phone to Windows 10 Mobile this time.

“Over the past few Cumulative Updates for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10586, we have addressed feedback we have received from Windows Insiders on the upgrade experience from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 mobile,” Gabe Aul explains, without saying anything specific about offering this build to those still on Windows Phone.

Then, there’s that previous rumor that Microsoft would release Windows 10 Mobile to Windows Phone devices in mid-February. We’re already on February 12, and if this plan is indeed true, the company should either release this one or the next one to all users in the coming days.

And last but not least, Gabe Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program, previously said in a tweet about build 10586.71 that Microsoft intended to release it to the fast ring, then slow ring, and eventually, depending on the feedback it received, “to everyone.”

It appears that the plan has since changed as we’re already at .107, but Microsoft might actually apply the same strategy for this new release. So depending on the feedback the company receives on this version from fast and slow ring insiders, it could be released to everyone else too.

Once again, there’s absolutely no guarantee that this is the Windows Phone upgrade version, but given all of these, it looks like it should be. How’s your experience with build 10586.107 so far?
