Yes, drones can raise the selfie culture to a new level

Probably Samsung decided to get rid of the selfie stick once and for all, and in doing so it pushed the self-glorifying idea of selfie to the next level: with drones.

In case the length of selfie sticks wasn't long enough for you and you wanted to capture more of your all-encompassing being, then abandon the physical limitations of a mere metal stick and receive the device that will take the selfie to new heights, pun intended, the Selfie Drone.

Apparently, SamMobile claims the project is called Project Selfie Camera Drone, and for a secret project does bear quite an obvious name. It seems the company wants to build something affordable, small and portable to make quick and impressive selfies. Impressive as in "not having to see my arm, or stick in the shot."

In any case, if this project does come true, then it will bring a new level of conundrum for tourist attraction administrators or simple bystanders as the constant flurry of zooming selfie drones in popular summer attractions will fill up the sky, crash into each other hit innocent civilians and bring endless headaches.

Throw away the selfie stick, adopt the drone

It seems that Samsung isn't very original with this idea as previous projects have also been in development for quite some time but very few actually have any chance of being commercially available very soon. Although advanced and mandatory small and unobtrusive, the camera drone is still something we should see in the future, and hopefully in small enough numbers not to bring a new age of shameless public gratification as the selfie sticks have done so successfully.

Although there is no official indication that such a project will ever come to life, the idea of building such a selfie drone isn't too wild for Samsung and clearly isn't beyond the realm of reality since the enthusiasm for such a device has grown considerably, and Samsung has the funds for such an accessory that will sell with its next-generation smartphones.
