Samsung and Whitepages announced a new partnership that will bring the latter's services on the former's Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone.

Most of us haven't used a printed phone book to search for a number in quite some time while for others the idea that such a thing existed might sound shocking.

Well, one of the companies that owned at some point all the printed phone books in the United States, Whitepages still exists, but it turned its business into an online affair.

According to Samsung, the new service offered by Whitepages will be available for Galaxy S7 users in 16 countries across North America, South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Whitepages will offer called ID features leveraging its proprietary data set that includes more than 600 million active mobile and landline phone numbers in the US and over 1.5 billion unique numbers globally.

Whitepages suite of apps will be included in Galaxy S7

Another service listed in the offer is spam and scam detection. Samsung Galaxy S7 users will have a spam button that will enable them to easily report spam numbers which will, in turn, help other users from getting the same fraudulent calls.

Nearby business search is another feature offered by Whitepages' service. It will allow users to search directly within the native dialer to find all nearby business.

“We are pleased to work with Samsung on one of the great issues currently impacting mobile users worldwide. Ensuring phone safety through user-friendly services is what we do at Whitepages.

“We are happy to have worked with Samsung on the Galaxy S7 to provide their users with the greatest phone experience possible and further grow our footprint in the international arena,” said Alex Algard, Founder and CEO of Whitepages.

Here are all the countries where the new Whitepages caller ID and spam/scam detection feature will be available: Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
