The most affordable lineup of Android smartphones launched by Samsung is about to get bigger, as another J series handset has just been spotted in benchmark.

Samsung Galaxy J2 has just popped up at Geekbench 3, although this is not the first time we hear about the smartphone.

A while ago the Galaxy J2 was spotted on its way to India for testing, but at that time not many details about the phone's specs were known.

However, since the smartphone was benchmarked, we now know a little bit of what's under the hood. As expected, the Galaxy J2 is an affordable smartphone that will probably be priced accordingly.

For starters, the handset is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, probably provided by Qualcomm. The listing at Geekbench also mentions that the smartphone packs 1GB of RAM, but we know nothing about the amount of storage.

Still, given the fact that this is a wallet friendly smartphone, there's a high chance that it will come with 8GB of storage and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

No word on price tag and availability yet

Another piece of information that we got from the previous leak is the fact that Galaxy J2 sports a 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, but the benchmark does not reveal any additional details so we don't know what's the resolution supported.

Last but not least, it appears that Samsung Galaxy J2 will ship with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, as well as some sort of stripped-down version of TouchWiz UI that made its debut on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge back in April.

These are all the details we got about the unannounced Galaxy J2, but we suspect more info will emerge in the coming weeks.

Obviously, it's too early to talk about price tag and availability, but judging by its specs sheet there's a high chance that Samsung Galaxy J2 will make its debut in emerging markets like India or even China.
