The saga of the Samsung Galaxy Note5 continues

We knew way before Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+ that the S Pen-enabled phablet wasn’t going to hit a whole lot of markets. Not at first anyway.

And because Samsung did not individually point out the countries that were going to see the Galaxy Note5 arrive in retail, there has been some confusion regarding its availability.

For the time being, we know that the Galaxy S6 edge+ was announced to arrive in India, but there might be a slight chance the Galaxy Note5 will also make it into the country.

The folks at Sam Mobile came across a test firmware which is believed to belong to the Indian variant of the smartphone. The build (N920GDDU1AOH2) is dated for August (H standard for August) and is believed to be currently a work in progress (we’re trying to be hopeful here).

Samsung India has been contacted to clarify the situation, but it couldn’t confirm or infirm the information, which is actually pretty good news. That means Indian customers can still cling to the hope that Samsung will bring its latest premium phablet to the country. If not, they will have to “settle” for the Galaxy S6 edge+.

Europe might have to wait a while, for a 3GB of RAM model

As for the European version of the Galaxy Note5, the report says that it’s probably going to take a while before the device will make it out on the old continent. Apparently, the last spotted firmware for the European version is dated in June. So if we had to guess, we would say that Samsung might be looking to roll out the Galaxy Note5 in India first and then in Europe.

Speaking about the European version, a Note5 model coded SM-N920F has been spotted in benchmarks. The “F” sitting there at the end highlights this is the European version of the phablet.

What’s interesting is that the benchmark listing reveals the specs of the phablet once again. But surprise, surprise, it seems that European customers won’t be treated to the same 4GB of RAM that can be found on board the US model, so they will have to make due with “only” 3GB (as seen at Telefoon Abonnement).

Apart from that, the specs should remain the same. So, would you think twice about purchasing a 3GB version of the Galaxy Note5?
