The Galaxy Mega On is one of the affordable Android phablets Samsung plans to launch by the end of the year. News about the said smartphone surfaced for the first time a few weeks ago, but no details on its specs have popped up until recently.

We know the smartphone was imported in India not long ago, so this must be one of the countries where Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Mega On.

Also, considering its specs, which have recently leaked via Geekbench, this one shouldn't cost that much especially if Samsung wishes to remain competitive in emerging markets like India.

Moving on to Galaxy Mega On's actual specs, it looks like the smartphone will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 412 processor.

Even though the listing states that Samsung's affordable smartphone features a Qualcomm MSM8916 CPU, which is, in fact, the Snapdragon 410, that clock speed is not supported by this chipset.

On the other hand, these benchmarks aren't 100% accurate when testing prototype smartphones, so it's possible that the Galaxy Mega On might actually be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 CPU clocked at a lower value.

Dual-SIM support might be included as well

Anyway, it's pretty clear that the handset will be equipped with a quad-core processor coupled with only 1GB of RAM inside and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Another piece of the information we got from the benchmark is the fact that Samsung Galaxy Mega On should sport a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

On the back, the phablet will feature a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, and video recording, while on the front there should be a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

There's no word on pricing options and availability yet, but we expect Samsung Galaxy Mega On to make its debut on the market pretty soon.
