Samsung Already Working on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for These Devices

If you’re an Android user, you probably know that Google started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its supported Nexus devices a few days ago. Some Android One models are also getting the same treatment.

But third-party device makers like HTC, Motorola, Sony and LG have also announced their clear intention of delivering the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and have provided us with official lists that reveal which models in particular are bound to get the update.

Samsung, however, has been quite silent on the matter, although we expect the company to deliver the update quite quickly, as it did last year with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Anyway, the folks at Sam Mobile managed to get their hands on a list of devices for which Android 6.0 Marshmallow is currently being prepared. Meaning that Samsung has already started working on the builds for these particular products.

As you can see in the list below, the current flagships, meaning the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, are of course included. But there are some older models too, like the Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy S5. Interestingly enough, the Galaxy S5 Neo appears on the list as well, which is a bit puzzling considering that the phone is a mid-ranger rather than a premium model.

We should point out that just because you don’t see your device in this list doesn’t mean that Samsung won’t produce the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for it at some point.

But you know how things go, flagship models get prioritized, then the rest of the family can be considered. And then there are carrier versions to be taken into account as well. To drive the point home, a few days ago, we told you that the Galaxy Core Prime was getting the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop under Verizon. What can we say, better late than never.
