A smartphone with PC specs that might offer dual-boot

Here is something that might come from the not-so-distant future: a device that could bridge the gap between smartphone and the PC.

Although many handset manufacturers are trying to turn their smartphones into ultimate productivity tools, Microsoft with its new Continuum for phones feature seems to be the closest.

Well, the new SyncPhone smartphone might make Microsoft's Continuum pale in comparison if it becomes reality. SyncPhone is an Indiegogo project that needs your money to supply the market with a new breed of devices.

US-based company Nurve Technology has come up with a new device called SyncPhone, which looks like a usual high-end smartphone. However, the SyncPhone is so much more than just a phone, the company's officials claim.

According to them, SyncPhone is the most productive smartphone in the world today. The device runs Windows 10 (not Windows 10 Mobile) thanks to its PC-like specs.

Run any app compatible with desktop and laptop

The phone is a full desktop operating system with the ability to run any Windows application compatible with a laptop and desktop.

There will be three versions of SyncPhone available on the market if the Indiegogo campaign is successful: SyncPhone, SyncPhone S, and SyncPhone Pro.

All three smartphones come with 5.4-inch display and feature textured aluminum unibody. They also feature 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. SyncPhone S and SyncPhone Pro also pack stylus, but the basic model lacks this feature.

Hardware-wise, SyncPhone comes equipped with a 1.84GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8300 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

On the other hand, SyncPhone S is powered by a 2.24GHz Intel Atom x5-Z8500 CPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.

Last but not least, SyncPhone Pro is the most advanced of the three and comes with 2.40GHz Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory.

Android and Ubuntu versions might be released too

Also, all three models pack microSD card slot for memory expansion. According to Nurve Technology, the SyncPhone will be available in three colors options (Solar Gold, Sterling Silver, and Midnight Black), but customers will also be able to purchase it in any of the three operating systems: Windows 10, Android and Ubuntu.

If the Indiegogo campaign reaches $1 million, Nurve Technology will also add a dual-boot reward, complete with Android and Windows 10. When the project reaches $2 million, the same will be available for Ubuntu Mobile.

Those who want any of the three smartphones that are now available via the Indiegogo campaign can purchase the basic model for $200, while the SyncPhone S and SyncPhone Pro can be had for $300 and $500, respectively.
