The development team at Capcom in charge of Street Fighter V announces that it plans to launch the second global beta testing period for the fighting game on October 22 and that gamers will be able to play the game for four days in order to test the cross-platform play, which involves both the PC and the PlayStation 4.

Ken, Necalli, Vega and R. Mika will be the characters that gamers will be able to play as when the testing goes live, and Rashid will be introduced one day later, with Karin coming on October 24.

Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy, Birdie, Nash and M. Bison are not part of this beta for Street Fighter V.

Gamers who plan to run the title on the PC will only be able to get into the action on October 24.

Capcom adds on the official site, "Do you desire to only play the strongest around? Well, ranked matchmaking will definitely be the way to go. Players will be automatically paired with someone of equal skill, with pairings becoming more difficult the better one performs."

Player search and leaderboards will also be featured, allowing gamers to see how they perform and giving them a simple way to track the best players.

Street Fighter V will feature a Fight Money system

The new beta provides gamers with a way to test it by using the currency they accumulated during the previous testing period to get access to titles and the Kanzuki Estate stage.

Capcom makes clear that gamers will be unable to keep anything they acquire during the October 22 to 25 period and that all Fight Money prices and details are still in testing and will be tweaked during the rest of the development process.

The company will need to carefully balance the mechanics of Street Fighter V in order to make sure that players on both platforms on which it arrives have equal changes during cross-platform multiplayer matches.

Street Fighter V will be launched on the PlayStation 4 and the PC during the first quarter of next year.

Capcom aims to deliver a title that mixes old and new fighters and keeps most of the core mechanics of the franchise unchanged.
