The fact that Laura Matsuda is one of the new characters that are part of Street Fighter V has been leaked for some time, but the official reveal from Capcom comes up with both screenshots and video to show off some of the moves that gamers will be able to use when they choose to play as the Jiu-Jitsu-focused character.

Fans will be able to use a grappling style that's designed as methodical and some quick movement to get close to enemies and deliver her attacks, which aim to overwhelm opponents as quickly as possible.

The official blog post explains, "As the next heir of the famed Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu fighting style, Laura is constantly looking for strong opponents around the world to defeat, in an effort to spread the Matsuda Jiu-Jitsu’s name and prestige. Generally a happy and outgoing spirit, Laura finds she is the most content and most focused in the heat of battle."

Laura Matsuda will be able to use a projectile, a first for a grappling-focused character, allowing her to pose a threat at a distance.

Her V-Skill allows gamers to move in and out of the range of opponents, and if no direction is used, she will execute a solid overhead kick.

The V-Trigger for Laura is Spark Show, which makes her projectile attack travel further and adds more stun to her moves.

Street Fighter V is delivering a new beta stage on October 22

Gamers will once again be able to try out the core mechanics of the fighting game, with Capcom saying that it wants to mainly test the way the title handles cross-platform play.

On October 22, those who have a PlayStation 4 and access to the beta will be able to start playing, using a new cast of characters, and PC fans will be able to join in two days later.

The development team says that the game might still have issues during the coming testing period, but the data it will gather will be used to make sure that the final product delivers the quality that the fan community is expecting.

Street Fighter V will be launched on the PC and the PlayStation 4 during the first quarter of next year.
