The development team at Blizzard is putting the finishing touches on the campaign and the multiplayer tweaks included in the Legacy of the Void installment in the Starcraft 2 series, but the studio is also promising to deliver a range of user interface changes with the associated 3.0 update.

The company explains on the Battle.net that it wants to improve the social experience for all gamers, with all chat now consolidated into one window that should be visible at all times, while the number of players that can be part of a channel has been upgraded to 200.

A new mechanics in Starcraft 2 will also eliminate inactive users from the chat, which should make it easier to connect with friends and talk to them while preparing for matches.

Gamers can also switch between chat windows faster to keep track of all their conversations.

Blizzard adds, "In Legacy of the Void, we’ve made chat channels easier to join by added the '/join' command. If you want someone to join your chat, all they have to do is type '/join'. If the channel name doesn't exist, they'll create and join a custom channel with that name instead."

Spacing, content, and format has been tweaked for the rest of the interface of Starcraft 2 and 3D scenes have been added.

Improvements are also coming to Arcade

The team has added a new layout, and Open Games is now the starting experience for all gamers, with Blizzard making it easier to find information about a game and to join a session.

Users will automatically be part of the chat channel when they enter the section, and anyone can link into their Lobby by simply typing the [Lobby] command into their chat box.

Starcraft 2 will get access to Legacy of the Void on November 10.

Gamers will be able to enjoy a whole new single-player campaign that focuses on the Protoss, with Artanis as the main character, and a series of tough choices that need to be made in order to stop the threat that aims to consume the galaxy.

When it comes to multiplayer, Blizzard is introducing a range of new units that will change up the way players approach battles regardless of the race they use.
