Gamers will need to use teamwork to take him down

Ever since Star Wars: Battlefront was first announced, one of the most intriguing elements of the title has been the all-new Heroes and Villains system, which allows gamers to become one of the most important heroes from the universe created by the movies.

The company has offered details about the gameplay associated with Light side leader Luke Skywalker, but a lot of gamers will be more interested to take on the role of iconic bad guy Darth Vader.

The development team at DICE says that all his moves have been designed to convey a sense of power and to give gamers options when it comes to dealing with enemies both from afar and up close and personal.

Darth Vader has solid lightsaber technique, which allows him to quickly deal with rebels who get too close, and he can use the force choke move to control crowds and even force characters to move against their will.

He can also throw his weapon at groups of opponents, and most gamers will quickly learn that taking him down requires a lot of work, especially when a Light side hero is not present.

Jamie Keen, a producer working on Star Wars: Battlefront, states on the official site, "If you face off with a Villain like Darth Vader one-on-one, you’re basically done. So the best strategy is to get help from your teammates and attack together. Also, the melee Heroes and Villains are particularly vulnerable from behind, so try to avoid frontal attacks."

More Heroes and Villains will be revealed soon

The special characters will be very powerful in combat, but gamers who manage to take one down or even make them less effective will be rewarded with a lot of points, which creates a nice balance between risk and rewards.

Both the Empire and the Rebels will be able to choose from a variety of heroes, which will be revealed in the coming weeks and months.

DICE wants its new shooter to be accessible to a wide number of gamers while also offering a lot of depth for those who are already familiar with the Battlefield experience.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be out on November 17 on the PC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

Gamers who place a pre-order will be able to get access to the Battle of Jakku downloadable content pack on December 1 and the rest of the community will access it one week later, getting free access to content linked to the new The Force Awakens movie.
