14 DAY TRIAL // In April this year, word got out that “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson and singer FKA Twigs had gotten engaged after 6 months of dating. Shortly after, sources close to the couple were telling the press they were set on something very small and untraditional, and that chances were they would be married in a pub ceremony this summer.
Summer is winding down, by the way, and they’re no closer to getting married than they were at the time. Because they can’t decide on the kind of wedding they want, Robert and Twigs are postponing the ceremony altogether, People magazine has learned.
Twigs is very indecisive
Apparently, they won’t be getting married “until autumn at the earliest,” a pal reveals for the celebrity publication. They’re not fighting and they didn’t change their mind about wanting to spend the rest of their lives together, but they can’t reach a decision about the kind of wedding they want.
From what the insider says, it sounds as if Twigs is the more indecisive of the two, and that Pattinson would be happy with whatever she chose. The problem is that she can’t decide.
“She talks about it keeping as real and low-key and then wants an elaborate glamorous Baroque affair. She was even talking at one stage about having a masked ball,” says the source. “It will now be bigger but how big, nobody’s quite sure at this moment in time. There’s no fixed [wedding] date but will probably be late in the year.”
Twigs and Pattinson will probably never address this report, which is hardly unexpected seeing how they’ve been perfectly content all these months not to discuss their engagement.
Trouble in paradise, probably
Whenever a celebrity wedding is postponed, the rumor mill goes into overdrive with speculation on what “went wrong” and how long it will be before it’s called off altogether.
The same is happening with Pattinson and Twigs right now. Though the report mentions only a slight delay in tying the knot, celebrity pundits are convinced this is the first clear sign of serious trouble in paradise.
Maybe they realized that they would not work out in the long run, or maybe the impending nuptials gave them both cold feet, or maybe the initial infatuation has worn off and they realized they were rushing into something as serious as marriage.
