It seems that the experience is not a classic multiplayer

Video game publisher Microsoft has confirmed that the upcoming Rise of the Tomb Raider will introduce a way for gamers to expand on the single-player experience and interact with other players, although no details on the feature are offered at the moment.

The company tells VideoGamer that, "In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider - including how players will be able to extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends."

The fact that Microsoft is stopping short of saying that the title features multiplayer probably means that the mode that was part of the first title in the rebooted series will not be brought back.

Instead, it sounds like Rise of the Tomb Raider will introduce a way for gamers to compete with one another while staying in the confines of the single-player campaign.

Given how much the development team at Crystal Dynamics has been talking about the new tombs that gamers can explore at will the new competitive experience might be linked to how fast or how thorough gamers are when moving through them.

Some reports suggested that Rise of the Tomb Raider will not have any sort of multiplayer.

Lara Croft is going to Siberia

After the events of the first game, the character is determined to find out more about the supernatural and is looking for a lost city in the frozen environment, which is supposed to offer clues about a way to immortality.

Crystal Dynamics says Rise of the Tomb Raider will deliver a wider range of enemies for Lara Croft to deal with, both human and animal.

The developers are offering a wider range of sneaking and stealth moves to expand the way the protagonist can deal with opponents, and there are also big new tombs to explore at will.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be launched on the Xbox One from Microsoft on November 10 of this year, the same date that Fallout 4 is also arriving.

Gamers will get a PC version of the new Lara Croft adventure in early 2016 and later in the year the game will also be launched on the PlayStation 4.
